Semolina/Sooji Coconut Halwa

Easy to make so delicious, sooji halwa is my personal family favorite.. gets done

 under 15 mins and uses only minimal ingredient..i have given a  twist by adding


coconut, i  like adding lots of roasted cashew nuts, the nutty crunch along with the


smooth semolina is like heaven... lets see the recipe;-


  1. coconut - 1/2 cup
  2. semolina - 1 cup
  3. gram flour/besan - 1/4 cup
  4. sugar - 1 1/4 cup
  5. water - 2 1/2 cup
  6. ghee - 1/2 cup
  7. cardamoms - 2
  8. chopped cashew nuts - 1/2 cup


  1. first brown semolina lightly in ghee on a non stick kadai
  2. when it is half brown, add the gram flour/besan..
  3. cook besan on low till it turned into light golden color is obtained
  4. then add coconut stir add sugar and water
  5. now add cardamom  keep stirring till  all the water is observed, and ghee oozes out.
  6. switch off the flame , garnish with chopped nuts and serve
